Did you ever buy happy meals as a kid? To get the toy?

Did you ever buy happy meals as a young kid just to get the toy? Man I remember how I used to want to buy them just to get the toy inside. I used to get the super mario brothers toys. Man I wish I still had them, they would probably be worth some money today.
Did any of you buy happy meals from McDonald's as a kid, just to get the toy?
Or DO YOU STILL do this? Be honest.

I used to get them as a kid, and I still do up until now. In fact, since I am a really big fan of Hello Kitty, when McDonald's recently released 36 Hello Kitty themed toys to commemorate 35 years of Hello Kitty, I went out and bought two, and then another two. You know what I wish though? That we could just get the toy without getting the meal. Yeah, cause I don't really like the Happy Meal Menu. But if the did that, it wouldn't be called a Happy Meal anymore, so defeats the purpose LOL!

There was no happy meal yet when i was a kid, lol! I'm not that old but during the time when i was a kid, mcdonalds has not introduced those happy meals yet. But, i don't think my parents would have bought me those if they were already introduced then because my parents are not the ones who would buy us toys that easily. It's different generation nowadays i guess.
Now, I do buy happy meals for my kids as long as i know that the toys are ok and on the condition that they will eat their food yet before they play with the toy.

i buy my kids happy meals to get the toy because they demand them if we go to mcdonnalds. Must admit we dont like taking them there if we can find an alternative

I used to kick and scream to get the Happy Meals. Those toys were like a barometer for what was cool at that time. McDonald's did and still does a great job of knowing what is popular with the kids and marketing the appropriate toys. Kudos to them.
