I know a lot of people who feel depressed during the holiday season if they are not close to their family. Also, things can get out of hand in terms of commitments and emotional obligations.
What do you think?

Depressed is too much for me(also if I know people that is really depressed during this holidays time). At the same time I have to say that I don't like Christmas time. I prefer summer holidays and I like Christmas holidays only when I can travel in the other part of the world, stay on the beach and forget about Christmas, New Year's Eve, Cold and Snow.

I tend to get depressed after the holidays. I have my husband and my children living here but my extended family live far away. I suffer from bipolar disorder. I think this contributes to my depression. In the last five years I have been hospitalized four times after Christmas. Remember there are two kinds of depression. Situational depression which is a result of something that is happing in your life at this moment. Clinical depression is a depression that last for more than 4 weeks approx.

No holiday season does not make me depressed. I be happy as usual. As I am living alone far from my family due to job, I do not feel any problem during holiday. I spend my time in reading books, talking to friends over cell, listening of audio cassettes, watching movies, gardening, preparing delicious food.......ha ha ha. Hey do you give marks to your friends comments!! Please be kind enough ....ok.
