has mylot messed up your discussions too?

I just had a discussion messed up.. I wrote an article about Lung Cancer not getting the same attention as other cancers. I went to look to see if it got any responses, and I noticed that it had a new tag- "mature content". How the heck does this have mature content:
"Does anybody else think that other cancers (such as breast cancer) get a lot more attention than lung cancer does? I'm not saying or suggesting that breast cancer (for example) does not deserve the attention that it gets. Obviously it is important to know about, as it kills millions of women (and some men) world wide. However, lung cancer is the number one cancer killer of both men AND women, and I don't think that it gets as much attention. What do you think?"
mylot also messed it up so that the words in my post are hyperlinked incorrectly. ARGH. Does this happen a lot? This is only my second day on here.

I don't know that it's MyLot or some user who is going round putting 'Mature Discussion' in the tags.
It could be an automatic thing, though. Perhaps your discussion or one of the responses used a word which automatically puts Mature Content in.
I have asked MyLot if Discussion Owners should, perhaps, be allowed to edit the tags (something like one can edit Interests). They replied that they had noted my suggestions and are tinking about them.

('thinking', of course! I believe that 'mature content' will simply filter out those discussions marked with it from those people who have set their profile to not receive it.)

Cancer and "mature content"!!!!
Well, don't get surprised, this may have happened due to certain keyword matching. The system might be searching the content for mature keywords and when found a match returned the flag as a "mature content". This is what I can guess have happened. But even though there is no question of messing around, must be some kind of technical problem.
From my experience with myLot I can assure you this is a really nice place. As on date I had no problem with myLot.

In one discussion in which I responded, the original discussion replied to my repsonse, & I replied back. Then after the third cycle of this, I tried to go & see what the discussion starter said, but instead, the entire first 10 discussions are missing.

I am not always sure how a Post makes it to where it does, and with some of the New changes I was not impressed with them, and am Hoping for something better with all of these soon. But it is a weird this this myLot, and I just continue to Post here until myLot is no more.

I dont know about which cancer gets more attention but I have noticed lots of messing around with wording or topics.. I think we have hackers on our site..My opinion though.

Mylot is working well given the rate of increase of memebers it is facing. It is a good problem to have:) So, if there is some problems like this once in a while we shoudl be fine with that. I dont think it has been too much. Happy mylotting to you. I can assure you oen thing. That is, youa re not being singled out here. Thanks for posting it though. It is good to know what problems people are facing so that one is reassured when one faces something.

I have not encountered any such thing earlier..but if it happened thats quite strange as these people are well aware of these contents and have better understanding to rate which article as mature and which one not to rate in a similar fashion

its very unfortunate....... yes i do feel that lot of responsible answers are expected when you post a topic on health,,,,,, but mylot is a general communtiy and consists of so many people, i do agree that the discussions are messed up, i would suggest you to complaint to the authorities regarding the matter, as of the health matter you have mention i shall respond you if you reply back, have a nice time

I don't think mylot did it. Maybe other members have tagged the mature content. I have not notice yet if mylot mess up my discussions. I may know it.

well the fact is that lung cancer is no 1 killer no doubt, but the fact that survival chances of brest cancer is better than lung cancer and most of the people r aware of brest cancer coz it can be detected very easily and so also coz of the undue hyper attention it has got well..i';d say u r right...
