Who is the suspect??

A man was found murdered on Sunday morning.His wife immidiately called the police.The ploice questioned the wife and staff and got this alibis: The WIFE said she was sleeping. The COOK was cooking breakfast. The GARDENER was picking vegetables outside. The MAID was in the post office mailing letter. After that the police arrested the suspect immidiately!Who is the murderer and how did you know?

I have no idea... the maid (because she was outside)? maybe the cook (kitchen knives?)... or even the gardener (maybe the garden hoes or something)? don't tell me it's the WIFE (psycho)!
