a lot of musicians and singers says that the best thing to do when singing is that you need to get the air from your diagphragm, that is true, but how to find out you are doing it right? well here is the clue, easiest way to know you are breathing through your diaphragm is you have to lay down to the floor straight, and then breath deeply, then you will notice that your diaphragm is moving and inflating, then stand up, do the same process of inhaling you did and do it while you are standing, that is the proper way to breath while singing, then just relax your jaws, and dont fold your forehead when you are reaching high note for it affect the air passage in your throat, relax you tongue the way you pronounce you the words and let your stomach feel the intensity of singing. just dont forget to support your voice with air comming from your diaphragm or stomach.

I never thought of becoming a singer although my brother (who is a singer) tells me that I have a good voice and I will be ok as a singer.I breath from diaphragm by the way from the moment I was born.

I think singing is half skill and half teaching. You have to learn to sing in some aspects.

good advice...although i already knew that because i had 2 years of singing coaching. its something that most people don't learn. i used to do both breathing exersises for singing and playing clarinet, so i could easily hold a long note. but another good thing is singing from your head and your chest...my teacher used to tell me i was a head singing...my voice wouldn't project and i was quite. but once you train yourself to reach lowing more around your chest, the projection is a lot easier...those 2 things kind of go hand in hand...=)
