What is the best way to get youself known to generate business for real estate?

First of all, I am new to the area so we have very few friends, and I just recently got my real estate broker's license. I really need help with marketing ideas that are not that expensive. And some advice on how to get my name out there to generate a steady flow of business for real estate. Please help!! All recommendations are greatly appreciated!!

You should be very responsive and with all the tricks of that business. All the possible alternates to keep it going should be right in front of your mind.
You should have contacts a good physical appearance.
I guess that should pretty much be it.
