Ok, I am so angry at my cat. I've had him for 14 years & he went and urinated & pooped on my couch. What can I do about getting the smell out of the couch? I know what I want to do with the cat, but I can't because I have had him too long. He's going to the vet tomorrow to see if he's sick, but my guess is, he's just being a butthead. PLEASE help.

Resolve works wonders on the stains and odors my cats leave behind. If that doesn't work you may want to rent a steam cleaner. When my son was young he threw up milk on the couch and that was the onyl way we got all of the smell out. If the sofa is newer, the company you bought it from may have some kind of stain protection policy and they may come clean it for free.

If there has been no extreme change in the cat's life...such as a move or a new baby in the house, your cat is probably trying to get your attention because he is sick, or doesn't like the new cat litter or food. Anyway, mix vinegar and wter and spray it on the couch and it will nutralize the smell.
