I have had a sad day today.

I was at home on the computer when an ambulance pulled up out the front of my house. Then another ambulance and two police cars.I didn't know what was going on.After a while the two ambulances left but the police remained.About an hour later a funeral service van turned up and they removed a body from the house across the street.I am not sure as yet who passed away. It's so sad watching the family in distress.I feel so sad for the family, especially losing a loved one so close to Christmas.RIP neighbour, you are in a better place now, resting in the arms of the Angels

This is very sad indeed. I was going to say that I hope whoever it was, that they went in peace. But I'm assuming that because there were police officers there, that this was not the case. I'm sorry about your neighbour, this would've been a tough site to witness.

It is always hard to lose someone, but around the holidays has to be just awful. My heart goes out to that family.
As for the police, anytime you call 911(emergency) here, the police usually show up, even if you didn't call for them.

well its better to rest in the amrs of the angel than to be rammed under a truck
but it should not have happened on the christmas day i empathise with this.

It's a very sad story but a reminder that we do not know when we will lose someone we love. This being so close to Christmas, it made me stop to think. Have I told the ones I love how much I love them? Do I have issues with anyone that are more important than not having them at all? I wish you a blessed Christmas with your family and friends. I feel for your neighbor and their loss at this special time of the year.

Its amazing how seeing something like this happen makes you take your own life in reevaluation. Suddenly you become hyper-conscious of your own mortality and what you this need to do in life! Hope you also experienced this feeling together with sadness.

It is very sad to lose anyone at anytime, but much harder at holidays or family events such as birthdays or anniveraries.
I lost my dad in Sept. of this year and my mom in 98 both their birthdays were last week. And with the holidays it has been a very tough time for me.

yep. it's always sad when someone passes away. whether it's a member of your family or someone you know ... even someone you really don't know of. it's just painful when you know that someone was left behind. but it's reality. it's life.

that is sad, very sad. any loss , irrespective of age, is a great loss to the family. i hate ppl saying he was old and sick, it's good he passed away. it's the presence of ur loved one that matters the most. it's true suffering is not desiorable and one yearns to die happy and peaceful dtill to the ppl around its HIS LIFE that is more imp.

I dont really know what to say Nikki.I'd offer my condolances, but I can only do that to you, and it didnt happen directly to you.
Instead I wish you strength and courage. no doubt your going to need it if you are planning on comforting this family in distress. Good luck to you, and big hugs.

I am sorry to hear of your traumatic day. Did you know these people well? If so, maybe you could see if they need anything. If not, maybe make them a cake or cookies. Just let them know that you are there and are willing to share their pain.
