I would be really interested to hear what your thoughts are on this topic. When I was in my teens (25 years ago) I wasn't allowed to date until I was 15 and at the time I thought that was high. But I am finding the age higher in most cases today. My sons girlfriend wasn't allowed to date until she was 18. I would have died if I had to wait till I was 18. LOL
So now I think about all this and wonder what I will say to my daughter who is only 10 right now (so I do have time). Maybe going out in groups is the way to go these days. I just don't know. What do you guys think??

I HAVE A DAUGHTER AND I THINK I WOULD ALLOW HER TO DATE WHEN SHE'S EIGHTEEN.. BECAUSE I WOULDN'T WANT HER TO GO THREW WHAT I WENT THREW... AND PLUS HER DAD IS SO OVER PROTECTIVE SO I DON'T REALLY THINK SHE WOULD EVEVN BE ALLOWED AT 18...LOL.

My daughter had her first serious boyfriend at 16 yrs and they have recently split but are still hanging out together.
I use to allow him to stay over, which I never had a problem with, although I am sure there are alot of parents who would.
Luckily she is very mature, not like alot of her friends who seem to change boyfriends like they change their underwear.
Nowadays they do seem to hang around in groups more and not go out by themselves. For one thing it is so expensive.
My friend the other day said her 15 yrear old has asked for a sleepover, with 2 boys as well as her girl friends. My friend for the first time suddenly realised her daughter was growing up, not that there was any hidden agenda in asking boys her daughter plainly told her!
Girls seem to have a more relaxed outlook on boys compared to how I was at their age. They seem to take the whole thing in their stride and I am sure one day your daughter will quite calmly tell you she has a boyfriend and not bat an eyelid, it's us parents who tend to freak out. In my case, my partner, he found it alot harder to accept his little girl was growing up. Sweet!!!
If you are open with your daughter when she is abit older and teach her about respecting herself, she will be fine and hopefully so will you lol!!!
