Do you make many purchases online?

A lot of people are afraid to shop online, and rightfully so sometimes. Do you make many online purchases? What do you normally buy?

Online shopping probably makes up more of my purchases than "real world" shopping. Mostly I use the same trusted merchants. If a site seems suspicious or fly by night I won't buy from them. I haven't had any trouble with fraud so far.

I did all my christmas shopping online as I bought some digital keychains for my family so they can carry around photos of our family or friends to show off to people. I have also purchased fitness equipment online and videos and books and toys for my niece and nephew. There are some things that I would never buy online like clothes, jewelry, car, house or anything real expensive.

No, I worked for a bank and know the issues involved. It's not worth the hassle. So I do make purchases with gift cards, which serves a double purpose for me I get gas credits at the store I buy the gift cards and I get to use them online without fear of them being 'stolen' for large amounts.

I do not shop very often online but it happens sometimes. And I have a story to tell which proves, that sometimes it can be extremely beneficial... Last sunday I bought a special cake online for my father's birthday. My friend should to drive to the shop early on Tuesday morning and pick it up. Suddenly he called me and told, my cake wasn't there. He gave his phone to shop assistant and I explained her, when I ordered it, when I got the confirmation e-mail, read it for her, and told, as much I remember, I paid 105 EEK for it (little bit less than $10). Shop assistant said, it couldn't be. I ordered 1,5kg, it should be 125 EEK. I said, OK, perhaps I did, but where is the cake I ordered? The shop assistant offered to give me two cakes, 1 kg each, for compensation. I said OK, thank you... And in 15 minutes my friend were back, and had 2 cakes with him... Later I checked my bank account, and I really had paid 105 EEK. The price for a kg was 70 EEK. I won 35 EEK...

I would love to try this kind of activities in the web but I'm still hesitant to trust other sites. Scams lurks everywhere you know.

Usually if you stick with names you can trust, aka Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Target, WalMart, etc. you can't go wrong. You get 'iffy' when you start buying off sites you don't know by name or deal with just anyone off a bidding site. While most of the bidding works out well, a lot doesn't. Always check their rating!

I do a little bit of online shopping, but you have to be careful. My son bought something on EBay and never received it. we tried to get his money back but eBay told us we waited to long, i was so upset. so now I'm a lot more careful of who i buy from.

Ebay is a lot different than just shopping though. With ebay you're often dealing with just anybody off the street and not a company. I've known a lot of people to be burned using them.

I buy most everything online because I hate to go out shopping, especially this time of year. Amazon.com is my favorite site, and I have bought everything on there from shoes to jewelry to groceries. I can't say enough good things about it!

I do some of my shopping online. It all depends on what I am looking for that year. Somethings are just easier to find and purachase online. For example, I was looking for the Little Tykes Ramp and Go Garage for my son. I couldn't find it in any store in my city. I went online and found it right away and pruchased it. I do a lot of shopping at Walmart.com (got some of the Black Friday deals on there) and at Lakeside Collectables (you can get some good stuff on there for cheap!)

I tend to use only gift cards online. A lot safer than putting bank or credit card info out there on the net!

I purchase online almost daily. Usually off Ebay. I sell there too (fulltime job). I bought almost every Christmas gift this year off Ebay. I got some great deals, and could buy more for people than usual. I also got unique gifts!

I shop online a lot. I like being able to avoid crowds and long lines. I even order pizza online. Every year I buy a lot of my christmas from amazon.com. But I am also an online junkie that uses both a pc and a laptop...at the same time.

Over the course of my 9 yrs. or so of being online, I have done a lot of Shopping online. I have shopped on Ebay, etc. and most of the time I am Happy with my purchases, but occassionally have been disappointed as well. A lot of my purchases are gift type of items, or items such as Support stockings, and such like that that is cheaper online than you can find in a store.

I buy nearly everything online. My weekly shopping, clothes, all my xmas presents. I buy on ebay, amazon, online retail stores. You name it I have bought on it. I hate shopping, so this for me is brilliant!! I have been doing it for years and have never once had a bad experience. Another thing that's good, you do not get influenced by the supermarkets to buy new products or come across rude sales people. I know people do get worried about fraud, but I make sure I check my bank and credit card statements regularly. Online off course. Happy new year!!!!
