question for the Pinoys out there??

i have been seeing alot of people are now wearing glasses ( particulary readng glasses) here in the philippines.. with different style and different shapes and color. heres the part i dont understand.. most of the people i saw wearing reading glasses are not the old ones but younger people... i know lenses in our eyes keeps growing until early thirties but it seems not that way. do reading glasses is starting to be one of the fashion statement here in the philippines? jsut wondering!
