I'm just curious, I know many people who have adopted children from various countries (China, Korea, and Liberia) , as well as people here in the states who have adopted from the states.
My question is...does anyone know of parents outside the US adopting kids from the US?
If you've never heard of this, can you post that you've read this but don't know of anyone? If you DO know someone, can you explain the situation/scenario a bit? I've just never heard of this happening and wondering why or why not.
thanks~!

No, other countries do not adopt our babies/children because we don't have many babies/children for adoption. Did you know that the average adoption time in the U.S. is 10 years? Yes, 10 long, long, agonizing years. Why do you think so many American's go to other countries to adopt? American adopt foreign babies/children because the average waiting time is 18 months to 2 years.
I have adopted here in the U.S. and a friend of mine, who adopted foreign, had adopted two children while I was still waiting for one! From the time she applied until she got her first child was 2 years. Two years later, when she was ready to adopt again, it took only 8 months because she went through the same agency again and had already been approved.
Also, depending which country you adopt from, it can cost you less than it does to adopt here in the U.S. However, usually it is about the same price or a little more to go foreign. Despite the possibility of a higher adoption fee, the shorter waiting time makes foreign adoption extremely desirable for those that want a family and are unable to have their own children.

Thanks for responding.
So...the time it takes to adopt here in the US as well as the availability of the children causes some to look overseas.
But not really the price, interesting. Thanks!

It is a tragic testimony of our government, they have elivated there abilities above that of God. Adoption should be promoted an simplified in a much more humanistic manner. Adoption is a free gift from god, now governments all over have placed price tags on the process that cut many loving homes out of the loop. I also think homosexual partners should not be allowed to partake in the process...they don't even have the complete set of body parts to talk a good talk where the rubber meets the road.
Make it more cost effective, perform due dilligence on the interviewing of candidates, then get the government into a less involved roll or just out of the way. Oh, no, I don't know of anyone.....
