Plastic Surgery Obsession

There are so many people today who aren't happy with their appearnace or they just want to change something minor abou themselves. The problem is that when they change that one little thing, they often find something else wrong with them. Then, they want to get that changed. It can eventually turn into obsession. Like the woman who has appeared on Oprah and Maury. She's has had so much cosmetic surgery done till the doctors refuse to do anymore on her. She is still wanting more. No matter what she doesn't feel pretty and thinks there is always something that she can improve. The sad thing is that she was beautiful even before she had surgery,n ow she kinda looks like a fake barbie doll. Are you obsessed with plastic surgery or know someone who is? What do you think influences these peoples thoughts? How can they be helped?

There is only one thing that I want done, plastic surgery wise.. Ive had a baby, and since then, my boobs havent been the same.. All I want done is have them put them back where they started! LOL but with women like that, its crazy why they do it and how the afford it.. I think the media is the main thing that affects how they think, they think they need to be 'perfect'..

plastic surgery is not aplicable for someone just to change and become more beautiful, it must be for one who has damage to reconstruct, not for beautification only, some do got what they want want but how about those who are disappointent, what will happen to them? they become uglier.

I think it's so scary when people get so obsessed with plastic surgery, it becomes a regular affair for them to have their looks changed! Sometimes, I think these people are just feeling very insecure about their looks. I wouldn't pay money to being pain to myself by putting myself through plastic surgery, let alone becoming obsessed about it! I think it could be a psychiatric problem, and if the person is willing to seek help & open to counselling, they can be helped.

People have become so obsessed due to society and how we perceive things. If someone is not happy with themselves then they need to boost their self esteem and at any cost. There will always be diverse opinions on this subject because some of us are happy with ourselves and some are not.

well...there r many peoples in world around who does lacks in confidence..they try to compare themselves with others.. all waana be like tom cruise...but hey thts all fake...the only problem with peoples like this is that they dont have confidence...they should be given courage through conversation n one should encourage a person suffering from this type of mental situation ...one explain the positive things about those peoples n explain them ...discussion n exploring the positive aspects is the only remedies 4 peoples like this.....

I often thought of that myself. I have interests getting some work done, but then I fear I may want other things done and it may get out of control....

It could be because of some psychological illness of their looks. They should be first taken to a psychiatrist rather than plastic surgeon. I came to know many people who had plastic surgery, but they will having the effect of it only a few years after that it could be same thing again. Most them are very obscessed with their face. I feel that looking good or beautiful is not external but it is an internal issue. They should be told that looking good should come from within rather than external ways. The number of people who suffer after plastic surgery is more than the number of people who benefit from it. Most of the time you feel that there is something more could be done.

do you watch nip tuck? where they make so much surgery just to make a girl or a man contented of a desired face.. well, i have no grudge against plastic surgery coz its science and its a privilage for everyone who wanted to change their physical appearance.. however, i see no cause in doing so... theres nothing permanent in this world.. you may be perfect and so beautiful with glamour today.. but in years... it will never be the same.. whatever is your face, body look posture... whats in you never changed... your a newly operated person with lesser fats, new face lift... but whats insde you is still a monster.. your still the person people hate or people dislike... nothing made inside of you... its only of the outside and it wouldnt be forever... it will fade. its such a waste.. but if your a kind person a real heart and no surgeries.. no fake stitches... and inside you is what everybody loves, then thats the most important thing of all.. when you die, people will cry for you've been a part of their lives, people you helped will feel a great lost when you left the world... because your goodness, the sharing the beautiful memories you gave makes them tell your the most beautiful person in the world... outside is so shallow thing to judge... whats inside is a treasure... its a diamond so seldomtand so pure in you... i am contented of my body, of my face and i am happy of who i am... i do know god is happier and he is proud when he see you being that contented of what you have and dont have..

I've had 2 lots of plastic surgery done. The first was maxillofacial surgery which had to be done as I could no longer eat or smile without pain. The next was more personal and one I am extremely happy with. My boobs are now in proportion with the rest of my body. I no longer get stared at in shopping centres.

I had a friend who got her boobs done and then she wanted to liposuction but we talked her out of it becuase we told her that she did not need to do that. well a year later she realized why an dwha tI had told her about the fact that having bigger boobs is not everything and she now has learned why that is. Basically she does not like her new boobs and wants to reduce them...her doctor said to wait at least until 3 years before doing anything so I am not sure what it is that she will do but sometimes it just goes to show tht you do one thing and yes yu will want to do more but for me, I think I just want to do what I can on my own. Although I would not mind having my boobs reduced.

I dont really know somebody with this case but i think the people who are doing this are the one who dont have that self confidence or have a very low self esteem. I think that they are not contented with what they have, they want to be somebody and you're right it becomes an obsession to them, but what they dont know is that no matter how they change something they still wont feel beautiful cos its not their faces or body that got problem, but its the way they think. They really need to help themselves to accept who they are and might need a professional to help them understand what they feel and what they think.

I'm not obsesssed with plastic surery but this could be due to the fact that I cannot really afford it anyways lol. I think people are never happy with themselves because they feel as though they have to live up to the people they see on TV or in the magazines, they see them as "beautiful". What a lot of people don't realize though, is how much prep time is spent on these models/actresses before they even appear on film or pose for the camera. Even after a lot of preperation, they play with lighting and fix the photos to make them look "perfect". If you ever see stars without makeup, a lot of them look just as most of us do. I think we could all look as "good" as the stars we see if we had people working on us for hours at a time and were in the right lighting; even lighting can make a world of difference!

Hmmmmmmmm......Maybe what you look like doesn't make you happy, kinda like money doesn't make you happy. THe people you have relationships with don't make you happy. ONLY YOU can make you happy. You have to find happiness within yourself, and if you don't love yourself no one else can truly love you either. Surgery makes you look different, but you are still the same person inside.
