When a band member dies, should the group continue to record/tour?

Since '82, I'm a huge fan of INXS. As 2007 marks the 10 year anniversary of Michael Hutchence's death, I find it difficult to understand how the remaining members of INXS are continuing on with a "new" singer...not to mention one from a reality show! Should bands continue after a pivotal member dies? Or should they move on to other projects?
