Some people say that there is no such thing as a stupid question. Is that true?

I was at a winery with some friends, two of which were named Allison. The waiter was kind of flirting with one of the girls and he asks her what her name is, and she says Allison. Then she says this is Allison too, pointing to our other friend. Then this genius says "Your name's Allison? and Your name's Allison? Are you two sisters? Yikes!

I think it depends on the situation. I hate it when I'm in a class or especially at a meeting and someone asks a stupid question that keeps us at the meeting even longer!

Hey, I have been there! As if the metting is not stretched out long enough...now you have someone asking questions that make you want to bang your head on the table or just tell that person to shut up. But of course, they say there is no stupid question except for the question not asked. I disagree!!! Sometimes it is a stupid question because the person just doesn't think about it.

I hate it when the professor is going to let class out earlier... but there is always that one student who for some reason doesn't want to go... so they start asking all kinds of ridiculous questions. GRR!

I think that there are stupid questions. Some examples of stupid questions are: After you get a major haircut, someone you see everyday asks you if you had your hair cut. You have a bag of groceries in your hand and someone asks you if you have been shopping. You are watching a movie and someone comes over and asks what you are doing. Any such question with the answer obviously in front of you is a stupid question in my opinion.

i would not say that... some questions that are raised have very obvious answers so its really a little dumb to still ask. but i think its better to ask a stupid question than to not ask and never know the answer.

Yeah, there sure are some stupid questions. A good one I hear very often is this: Do you make this all yourself? The person is referring to the jewellery that i'm selling when I have a very large sign outside of my tent saying "hand crafted jewellery". If that's not stupid i don't know what is!!!!

Oh I've been there too - I make soap. It's especially annoying when you are a show with only handcrafted goods. It's like duh! Isn't that the point of the show? Handcrafted? But I always smile and nod.

A Question is a question regardless of the answers. There are no stupid questions. Just stupid people who make them. You may find out some on this site: :D http://www.duno.com/s/?rid=4188

I dont believe in stupid question or answer if it is genuine. I think people can be thoughtless in their questions and those are the ones I consider stupid. Also any question designed to hurt someone.

I don't know if I would call those stupid questions - The person usually knows what they are doing when they are asking questions to be hurtful.

Yes,Virginia there are stupid questions. My favorite "Vicky?" "What?" "Are you asleep?" to which I'd answer "Yes,I'll talk to you in the morning." That one used to get my little sister all the time.

I think there are plenty of stupid questions out there. I knew a grown man that asked where are babies born from? He was serious. Not, that's stupid, isn't it?

Deffinetly not! A stupid question is a question that either everyone or no one knows the answer too. For example, If I asked, Why are we born? No one would be able to answer it correctly but I'm sure plenty of people would have different opinions on it, but if I asked something like what's 2 + 2 - everyone knows the answer is 4..

When my brother was working the drive-thru window at Taco Bell someone asked him how many tacos were in the six-pack. That was a pretty stupid question. I guess the guy just wasn't thinking. My brother told him to wait and he would go ask the manager and find out the answer. Haha!

That's funny. I think people just get caught up in all the other BS in life that they ask silly questions like that sometimes without thinking... you know, they just aren't paying attention.
