Sometimes I really cant stand watching the news. They rarely show positive stories and most things that they report have nothing but negativity in them. I want to know if you think watching the news affects your outlook of society. I also want to know if you think the MEDIA is controlled by the government

There are a lot of negative stories in the news these days. I do watch news regularly and I do feel that sometimes that I am hearing all these terrible things thats happening around the world. The media plays a big role in the way how some people see the society. I don't think all media is controlled by he government but government has some effect on the media. It differs from country to country, where some of the countries have a lot of government influence on the media and some doesn't.

I agree completely about not being able to stand watching the news. It is so depressing and there rarely is any good news. It is always about wars, people killing other people, all sorts of criminal activity, natural disasters and so forth. I think the government has some control over the media but not completely. I try not to watch the news but do feel it is important to know what is going on around us.
