are politicians alone responsible for india's slow devlopment or are we also responsible?

I am sorry but i do not agree with you on the matter of development as being slow. It has to be firstly observed that India is faced with demograhics that are very unique. I agree that the growth has been slow but it took even US, the pinnacle of world economy to show there presence in WWI, more than 100 years after there independence. It takes time in India to implement good as well as bad things, the decision rests with democracy rather than capitalist or communist, though democracy has its own set of problems. Changes do not take place overnight and presently India is the second largest growing economy in the world, behind China ofcourse. India is moving great roads ahead but its sustainability remains a question. I would appreciate more views on this topic. Cheers

Well it's good to read that after 60 years of independance you don't blame it on colonisation!! I have never had the pleasure of visiting India so I will watch this thread with interest and learn from the response.
