Are we loosing Christmas? I predict by 2020 Christmas will be illegal to celebrate due to the protest of other religions and non-christians sector in society..Even in the retail movement specifically they have banned almost all mention of Christmas. What is your opinion? please be respectful...thanks.

I don't think it will be illegal because that would be against our freedom. Perhaps, it may lose meaning as it is replaced by a mere holiday. I encountered a post here I can't remember from who asking if non christians can celebrate christmas because it is a holiday. We need to respect each other and each other’s religion and be free to practice our beliefs. In the Philippines, the start of Ramadan is considered a holiday by the government. Being active can persuade the government. I am not sure if this may hold with other nations. Christmas will never be lost as long as we keep it in our heart. Physical attributes of Christmas may fade but the spirit of Christmas depends on our belief. Merry Christmas!!!

Christmas has lost all the meaning of the birth of Christ and now is a time for business to make money.

I think it is sad that our Christian holidays are numbered. When the constitution in America was written, it seperated Church and State for a reason. It had more to do with religious freedom than anything else. Unfortunately, that has been perverted so that Christianity is under attack. Our forefathers celebrated their Christianity openly and without an apology. We need to stand up for our rights.

But we are living in a society were Christianity is no longer the glue that holds us together but multiple religions and races and people want to be recognized. Thanks for the post

I don't think we would lose Christmas. That would be awful. Besides people like to celebrate the holidays.

We would not loose the holiday Christmas but the Christian meaning will be gone and replace will be a "winter Holiday" so people can have a break from work and splurge on our selves...Retailers, Business People, Schools and Governement won't give up this holiday but are willing to loose the bickering on the religion aspect.

I dont know about putting a date on it but yes you are right, My daughter is in the 3rd grade, they got a list of songs they cant sing in school like away in the manger, come ol ye faithfull ect ect because it mentions christ, they are also NOT allowed to have a christmas party this year or put up certain decorations, they are now having a Holiday gathering instead, There will be no Christmas pagents or singing of carrolls like in the past years. give me a break!!! They are just kids. I for one am getting sick of hering seasons greetings, I perfer to here Merry Christmas, I dont mean to offend anyone but i am so sick of being "politicy correct"

I 100% agree, like at the Ctac airport no christmas trees this year because another group wanted their religion supported aswell.

Thank God that Girl Scouts aren't like this. They say prayer, they say grace, they had Christmas party, and can talk about God all they want.Too bad not too many of her school mates are in GS though. They would really learn a lot.

santa and his computer - see santa is hard at work and uses a computer too.
Well I think that people have lost the true meaning to Christmas any way. I mean it was started to celabrate the lords birth and now days when you ask some one about christmas you question always start with what did you get for christmas, what did you get the kids? and so on. My hubby and I have 3 kids ages 2, 4, and 6 and we have tought them christmas is not about getting gifts it is about giving and sharing and being with your family. So if we have food on the table, and we are warm, and a roof over our head and we are all healthy with our family gathered around the table that is good enough for us. say a pray to the lord in thanks and prase his name that we are here and we are all together. not what you get me, where is my gift, that is not what i wanted, i want more, so on and so on. that is just our point of view on christmas.

The true meaning of Chrismas has truely lost its feel...TV shows try to bring it back but doesn't help. I have seen way to many children against christmas. Parents like you who teach them values are what is needed in todays society. Thanks for the post.
