Just to answer this a dual core is like having two processors on a single chip while the quad core is like having 4 processors on a single chip

Hyperthreading is also a different from dual and quad cores

actually quad core in not quad core in real terms.. it real terms there should ve been four cores on the single chip.. but actually it is like putting two quad core chips together and packaging them in single chip..
