Why is it so good?

Has anyone ever had Hawaain bread from Wal-Mart? Well, the stuff is stinkin' great. I may or may not have been having a discussion with my girlfriend at some point about how we should probably start eating more healthy foods (which involved eating less carbs and sugar, etc). She agreed. Later that evening we went to Wal-Mart and pretty much the first thing she put in the cart was a package of CARB PACKED Hawaain Bread. (You gotta understand... these rolls are so sweet it's almost like eating a doughnut). Anyway, she insisted that it was healthier than sweets, ice cream and doughnuts and we got the dang bread. My theory, however, is that the bread is just as bad (if not worse) than sweets, carbs, ice cream, the whole works. Anybody?

I believe there is a thing called good carbs and bad carbs. I think that bread are better carbs then say CAKE. Moderation is key. I've never had the hawaain bread, think my husband would really like it though.

Actually, you are right about there being "good and bad" carbs. Unfortunately, I don't think carbs from bread are actually good carbs. I'm not 100% positive, but good carbs are generally thought to come from fruit (natural sugars) etc. The carbs from bread are bad for you because they turn into glucose during the digestion process....

I think that some bread carbs can be good. Breads high in fiber for instance ... because the fiber makes one think that they are more full then they are and then they don't consume more carbs.
