Yes, there are many America-haters but then there are also many non-america-haters. I for a fact, do not hate America. With that fact out, allow me to start this discussion without any prejudice against me.
Lets talk about Michael Moore and his quest, his projects, I would call it. I have watched with interest 2 of his wonderful movies (FAHRENHEIT 9/11 and BOWLING FOR COLUMBINE) - if you have yet to watch these two movies, pls go get them!! you do not know what you are missing!!These 2 movies are documentary like featuring Michael Moore narrating and interviewing senators, movie stars and normal citizen of America and how some of them try their best to avoid him like a plague!! "Fahrenheit 9/11" discuss about why the Twin Tower went down. Why would Osama go all the way to plan such attack.
Whilst "Bowling for Columbine" centers around gun control in America. The opening scene is very good. Michael show us how a Bank in America would give out guns as an incentive for openning an account there!! The facinating question here is why are there so many death or injury by firearms in America whilst the same cannot be said in other countries. UK and Canada was used as comparisons. The Americans in general blame it on violence in TV, but Michael goes to prove that other countries shows violent movies with out cencorship and yet they can live with thier door unlocked everynight. The same cannot be said for people in America.
Tell me what you think. If you have not watch these movies, go watch it and share your opinion here, pls. Btw, this is the link to his site : http://www.michaelmoore.com/index.php

Who is Michael Moore??? It took me a while to remember that name... then it struck me on the controversial short film on 911. I saw that one too and it was actually funny in some parts.... well, can't remember much of the details except that they make Americans seem dumb and hopeless in geography... why? well, i remember one part really well, so many Americans think that middle east is in australia when ask to point out the country in a nameless, unlabeled world map.

My apologies... someone just reminded me that i've mixed up facts. The part on the Americans and pointing at australia as middle east was another video clip that i saw elsewhere... not from Michael Moore. Sorry abt that.

Michael Moore may be controversial and unique, but there are no doubts that he exaggerates, decieves, and even lies some times. He uses images and interviews that are spliced of misrepresented to make his point. As far as I'm concerned, that discredits him.
Bowling for Columbine? He makes it seem like a rocket building plant in a town is the reason Columbine shootings happened... The factory built rockets to launch satellites, not missiles...

Quote "...he exaggerates, decieves, and even lies some times...". Does he?.. I watched the his movies and I do not see any deceive in it. As for the rocket plant, I do not see how you can link it to the reason Columbine shooting happened.. At the end of the show, from what I gathered, it is the American lot who has a problem. A problem that Michael is trying to highlight to all with hope they make the necessary change.
You need to try to uderstand why Columbine happened. Is it because of voilent shows? Is it because of freedom to hold firaarms? Watch his movie again with an open mind. Look at the points he is trying to raise. You would then understand why Columbine happened.
