Favorite book? I don't think I could come up with one book that is my fav. I do know I like books that are series, so you have time to get to know the people in the book. Mercedes Lackey's Valdamar series, or Anne McCaffrey's dragon books are the kind I'm talking about. I also like mysteries that are series, Tony Hillerman's navaho mysteries (I've even been to one of the sites he wrote about!) Or Lilian Jackson Braun's The Cat Who mysteries - more like an annual visit to old friends these days, but very enjoyable.

I love Anne McCaffrey too, and Mercedes Lackey as well, I have not had a chance to real Lilian Jackson Braun.

I was going to say otherland! That's great stuff. I also really liked Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy. Currently I am reading the Foundation series by Asimov. I tried to read it once before but I got bored- it starts slow, so this time I am starting with the prequesl which is faster to start. It's good so far. Has anyone read Tad Williams' other book, the one about fairies- I can;t recall its name at the moment but I liked it a lot.

I have not had a chance to read Pullman's his dark materials yes, but it's on my shelf.. You must mean Tad William's Mirrorworld, yes, it's very good. I've read almost everything he wrote, I have not had a chance to get the shadowmarch series yet (his newest one) have you read it ? Asimov's foundation was a fantasit series.. I erad them in the order they were published, they do start out a bit slow, but get VERY interesting. There is also a "second foundation" series by Benford, Bear and Brin (The three "B"'s) - also very good. Do you trade books online ?

I like The Anita Black books too. And the Hyperion series by Dan Simmons for Sci-fi.

What did you like about it ? I have read it and thought it was very nice, but not really as complex as some of the other works I have read in the field.

Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and abosolutely anything that has vampires or anything paranormal in it. These are some great books. I wish I had more time for reading than I do.
