Have you ever been late a few days and started worrying that you were pregnant? What did you do? I'm a couple days late right now but I'm on the pill and have never missed taking it. So, now I'm starting to worry a little bit.

I would not worry-you are being controlled by hormone therapy. How long have you been on the pill? I was on the pill for years and it seemed to me that every once i a while my system would be off for a few days too. The chances that you are pregnant are slim, but you have the right to be worried just the same. If you don't start within this week (are you on your "sugar" pills this week?) take a test by the end of the week. Or call your doctor and find out what she says. Stress can also be a factor of a cycle starting late-or skipping all together too.

The sugar pills are the decrease in hormone therapy and triggers your cycle to start. Some times your body is still "feeding" off the hormone build-up and it doesn't register that there isn't any more coming in until a few days later. If that is the case your pill is working double time and your chances of getting pregnant are even slimmer!! The one thing though is if you choose to have a baby later on, your body naturally stores those hormones which could put off getting pregnant for several months even after you have stopped consuming the pill.

Thank you for your reply. I have been on the pill for over three years and yes I am on the "sugar" pills right now. I am a bit stressed so maybe that is it. Have a wonderful day.

Yes, that has happened to me. I just kept calm because i knew that being stressed would make it later if i wasn't pregnant. I reassured myself that even if i was pregnant i would be able to get rid of the baby, even though that wasn't an option i particularly wanted to take, but by that point it was clear the thecontraception may have failed, so there really would have been no other choice for me. Thankfully i wasn't pregnant.

Thanks for responding. It's hard not to stress sometimes when you have a lot on your mind and then something else comes up but you are right. I need to relax. Thank you. Have a great day.

Also, be aware that some antibiotics can interfere with the pill working properly. But if you aren't on an antibotics and have taken the pill regularly and on time, there is almost no chance that you are pregnant.

The thing about the pill though is that the longer you are on it, you cycle becomes less, so eventually they might move one or two days later than you are used to. Not a big deal, but it can be frightening at first.

Stop stressing out and you will start. Stress can make your period late.

I stopped stressing out and realized that I may have been going through some extra things at the time that may have caused it to be off balance. I am late now and I know why. I have missed the pill for two days. I am not worried because I know my cause. Dont stress. if it doesnt come in a few take a test to see if you are in fact pregnant. try not to worry . It throws your hormones off balance.
