When I was little, I loved playing with Barbie! I'm a brunette, but thought only blondes were pretty. Are dolls like Barbie/Bratz setting an unrealistic standard for girls..and boys for that matter (they date/marry us)? Why or why not?

Both of my daughters play(ed) with Bratz and Barbies. They are both brunette and loved the fact that they could pretend to be blond while they were playing. I like the fact that Bratz dolls have different ethnicities. It helps. I just wish they weren't all model thin.

I think the Bratz dolls are terrible! They seem to be into the night club life style (look at their clothes and I think they even have a dance club play set). They are all about designer clothes, shoes, and makeup. And what's worse - my fiance and I were skimming channels one day and the baby bratz cartoon came on... OMG was I mortified. They're awful. Little kids shouldn't be worried about makeup and clothes. They're teaching our little girls to grow up and be hoochies by the time they are 10.

I dont like bratz dolls, they are teaching little girls to be materialistic. The make and clothes they wear are a litllte too much. Barbie I can tolerate but those little toy hussies are not fo my nieces. I refuse to buy them. Its even to the point where the bratz babies are wearing make-up and belly shirts. I dont find that cute nor amusing.
