Ok.. here comes another cell phone related question from me... Whenever you need to inform someone something/say some lovey dovey stuff/work related issues.. what do you do? Do you send an SMS or call?
For me first preference is SMS unless i'm in the mood for catching up w/t a friend for gossip and stuff or when i talk to my boy friend -- coz THAT is mandatory --- apart from tens of lovey dovey messages to be sent back and forth throughout the day. LOL.
Other than for these 2 things, i almost ALWAYS sms.. not only because it is cheaper but less time consuming. And sometimes when you are avoiding someone but need to get in touch for some urgent work or something.. sms is a perfect tool.
So.. what would it be for YOU - SMS/Call?

that always depend on availablity.
Availablity of Balance, and importance of the person whom i've to call.
else SMS are cheaper
so not if call then go for SMS.
thanx for such a nice discussion.

As days pass by you, YOU CHANGE.. Thats the funda answer to this discussion.. When I was at college (no money to call people continously) SMS was the medium for Communication.. But when you came out to work.. Initially SMS+Calls. But now every communication is on Calls otherthan passing some details, phone numbers, etc I use SMS.

Being a 26 year old male, I’ve been able to see SMS blossom from it’s first days of Alphabet text to the now T9-Word format that is equipped on newer phones. I’ve always shunned the instant text because it seemed so impersonal and it took too long to type everything I wanted to get across. But having warmed up to the idea, it’s taken a new hold on me where the text is really simple and easy to say a quick ‘hello’ or make a time and date to meet. What really amazes me these days is seeing the younger generation use these phones like it’s a computer and enter entire messages at the speed of a keyboard to their friends. The actual call is being replaced entirely with messages that can be sent to one person or entire groups of friends, as well as pictures and sounds. I think we’re starting to see a generational gap in the fact that the older an individual, the more likely to make a personal call, and the younger a person, the more likely to send a text.

well frankly speaking i prefer call rahter than sms. because i think i can speak more in a minute than write in the given number of letters. and also while we call we can communicate. but when we send sms we are asctually telling our thing. and if the person has to say something about it then he has to call or sms again. which is again waste of money

I prefer call.Communication can be done well by calling other than smsing. But the funny stuff can be sent only through sms.But if sms is free call is an alternative. Thanks for such a good discussion.

I no longer have a cell phone, so I always call. I want to make sure the person gets my message and the sms could be erased without ever reading it. The same for email or any text message. Maybe if I am live with the person on MSM/icq/aim.
