If you had a choice between hiring two people and one had more experience than education would you choose that person?

It would depend upon the field. In some fields, experience is more important than education, as there are things you learn in life, that you cannot learn in school. In my field, as a Doula, if I had a company and were hiring Doulas, I'd go for experience over education.

I would say experience, I hated school and was quite dumb at school, I feel I learnt nothing at school, luckily my parents taught me common sense and I am not fooling myself when I say I have done better than some of my well educated friends, as I have always saif common sense does not come with a certificate.

Education can only take you so far... but I have learned more valuable lessons about life from my experiences than I have learned from my education.

For me education is the most important thing. You can gain experience without education but you cannot educate yourself with experience.

I think the person who has the most experience would be my choice. So often education does not make the better or more knowledgable worker.
You see that a lot in health care, newer methods of clinical have made experience so much more valuable
