What is the difference between a regular computer and an E machine? Is there any difference? I am asking as my son wants an e-machine for Christmas, mind you he is 12 if that makes a difference.
Any insight would really be appreciated:)

Ohhh thanks so much. I thought it was not so much like a computer, someone told me that an emachine was the worst thing to have it doesn't allow for anything. All of the memory is taken up before you can even use it.
Thanks a bunch for clearing that up for me.:)

I believe you are refering to the brand name "E-Machine" These are very basic and very minimal machines that make a great first computer.
E-Machines were very popular a fews years aga due to the inexpensive price and you could buy one at Wal-Mart.
However, computers are new getting to be aroung the $ 200 dolar range and you can even find some on the Dell website for very in-expensive prices.
An E-Machine maybe worth the price Please see www.emachines.com for more information.
Good luck

E-machine was a computer company that made a major impact by selling computers at a very competitive rate. They originally used cheaper components to keep the price down, but changed and started using much better quality. Basically there is no difference except the manufacturer's name.
They were bought out a few years ago by Gateway, who as far as I know still market computers under the name of e-machine.
