The internet is the tie that binds me and my husband for 2 months that he is away working on a tanker vessel nautical miles away.
Before he was on a sailing tanker for 9 months and the only communication we have is thru satellite call.
But with constant praying he was assigned to a far better ship which is a production tanker that does not go on sailing but on a fixed location in the middle of the sea and has the internet connection and for 2 years now we are in constant communication every night thru yahoo messenger and we talked for more than an hour on his free time everyday.
When our love is true there is no amount of miles can ever hinder our burning desire to get in touch with our love ones specially THERE IS ALWAYS A BETTER WAY TO KEEP IN TOUCH because every minutes count HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!

happy valentine's day to you, too!!!
i can related to you since i had a boyfriend for more than a year before who worked in a cargo ship. we tried to keep the relationship. it went well the first few months. but later on, unlike you, i wasn't so lucky with him. but it's okey. i have moved on and though i am in a long distance relationship again now, i am happy and confident about our love. take care!

yep. that's what i've learned, too. it might hurt to go through so much pain but it helps us become a better person in days to come. in fact, i can say that i am a better girlfriend now than i used to be with my exes.

I'm happy to hear that you lost love and you found a better one because sometimes a wrong person comes along so that will be able to meet the right person afterwards.
Thanks for choosing me as the best response.

thanks to technology! distance seems to be a whole lot smaller. but i still love the old fashion way of communicating, snail mails, even if they took so many days before reaching the person.

hi it's hard at times and i do have the 'out of sight, out of mind' funda. my best friend and my cousin sis are both in a diff country. it gets so hard to communicate and just be in touch sometimes no matter how hard i try. we do chat/scrap on orkut/email/voice chat - but it's really not the same. we do meet once a few months.

yep. it is never the same. it's always better to talk to them in person. the feeling can't be compared.

My way of communication is through internet with most of the people mainly.
But specially for my parents I like to call them, though I do mail them too. In every few days I have to call my parents who are far away from me, otherwise I don't feel good.
For all long distance friend I go thorugh mail or chating on mesenger. But with my friends withing USA, I like to call them now and then.

It's nice that communicating with others is much easier now, with many options to choose from like snail mails, e-mails, telephones, mobile phones, and other innovations. I use mostly e-mails to communicate with them.

My husband and I talk alot over the net as well. He is in another country now as well. Every night we spend hours and hours on MSN talking on video and voice. Way better than typing.:) We also send text and even miscalls here and there to show we are thinking of each other.
I texted my parents now and then who are also in another province. My parents sometimes call me to check up on things.

We are just licky in this generation as we have some advanced communication technologies. We can communicate to remote places through phones and internet. In earlier days if someone travels to abroad, it will be after 2-3 years when he comes back, people understands that he is still alive. We definitelydont have such problem, so I am happy :)

this is my plan, too since i will be going to sweden one day soon within this year. it's sad to leave my mom behind. but i need to. i need to spread my wings and be with the man i love, too. and chatting is one best way to reach out to people we can't see everyday.

I also have family relatives that are so far away from us because they are working in other country. We use internet to communicate because I think internet and computer is more affordable than to call using phones. We use yahoo to chat and we also chat in facebook. We use web camera to see each other. I also use cellphone sometimes and I use the viber application to call or send them a text message.
