Dumpster Diving???

Has anyone ever been dumpster diving before? I've been reading about this online and it seems people are finding some neat things. From what I gather, you go to apartment complexes or department store dumpsters...and they throw out really nice things! I haven't been...but, I'm thinking about checking it out. Any input would be awesome!

I personally have never went dumpster diving but I know when we have spring clean up every year you will find swarms of people in trucks scouring the area for things people set out to be picked up. I live in a small college town so you always see neat stuff sitting out especially when the college kids pack up and head out for the summer.
