which is best norton antivirus or mcafee

I think you should go for norton 2006 professional. Unlike any other antivirus softwares, the latest backdoors and trojans which others cant even recognized are quarintined by norton.
Its really good.

i think macafee is the best
its has a smooth update system and also it scans the hdd fast
and not to mention
macafee uses very less ram compared to norton

Supposedly Mcafee is the best out of those two, but they are both system hogs. The best in general I would say is bitdefender or nod32 based on performance reviews and so forth and so on.

there is no antivirus that we can say 'perfect' because every antivirus will have some one or two bad features. like mcafee is a very good one and gives good protection, but it takes more ram which slows down the system. even the norton also. i say norton is very powerfull that it takes every application into consideration and brings the performance of the computer down to earth. it takes more memory than mcafee. so the best one may the mcafee between the norton and this.

i have a very funny incident regarding anti virus es.......at first i used to run norton....once i installed avg......and scanned my machine.......it found 4 viruses where as norton found nothing........since then i have tried many antiviruses like panda,pccillin,mcafee.........but.....i found that mcafee is the best..........with many coverages......
