My boyfriends 14 year old son wants to start shaving. He has a very slight shadow above his lip and he says the other kids in school are making fun of him because of this. His father is trying to talk him into waiting because once he starts he will be doing it for awhile. Plus he is very accident prone and a little on the hypochondriac side so this might be very interesting. His father wants him to wait until Christmas break so just in case he cuts himself he won't have to go to school with bandaids all over.lol. So, my question is...guys,when did you start shaving and parents... when did your sons start to shave? Thanks.

i think at 14 if there is enough hair growing I don;t see whay not alot of teenage boys become self cocienious if they are the only ones in class that are getting that much hair

I started shaving at the age of 14. I don't think it's too early.

I think that there is no harm to start shaving at the age of 14... As far as he don't like to have beard....
Even I started to shave at the age of 15.... So there is not much of the difference.

I have two babies, no experience with that yet, I think fourteen is ok, alot of kids around that age start shaving, some have more hair than others but they are curious about the whole process. I don't see a problem with him trying, even if he gets a few cuts and nicks, it's all apart of the experience.

I think if he has facial hair and doesn't feel comforable with it, go ahead and let him shave. You may want to try an electric razor though and skip the regular razor for now.

i shaved when i was the same age as your boyfriend son is. if the boy thinks he need to shave it he should. its for his confidence. he needs to be responsible for his own well being and at his stage let him be.

well its not the age that matters,if he has alot of hair growth on his face it is but natural to start shaving and look like a goodie boy.and its no problem also if he starts shavibg at an early age.
