The only thing that tv does for me is relax me, unless I watch the news. That usally upsets me, but I know what is going on in the world that way.

I think as an adult I mostly use it for entertainment purposes. To get away and enjoy the comedies, gameshows, Edmonton Oilers hockey etc.
Maybe as a kid I was influenced in the fact that when I saw superheroes, wrestlers and I wanted to be like them and emulate them.
I for sure use it to keep my kids entertained. Thank goodess for Treehouse!

I don't watch a whole lot of TV myself. When I do, it's a nice, relaxing, and often informative experience. My husband, however, has the TV on ALL the time. Sometimes the noise just drives me crazy. I close the door and try to concentrate on what I'm writing, but at times it's difficult. Some shows are just loud with a lot of noise.

I think that I use the TV as a form of relaxation and also as a source of knowledge. Here in the UK the BBC produce some excellent documentary programmes.
My only worry about TV is that it can be used as a substitute for enjoying time with the kids, and the programmes can influence young kids very much. I remember my son coming back from the childminder once and he suddenly started punching me and his mother. WHen we challenged the childminder she told us he'd been watching Sooty on TV (for those who don't know, Sooty is a glove puppet, his friend is Sweep and they are constantly fighting).

In my humble opinion i think that the television influences my life very hard.
I watch it about 2-3 hours at day.

Television doesn't influence me. It's just something to watch when I get bored. I know there are things that are good and not so good to watch so I don't allow my thoughts and ideas to revolve around what I see and hear on TV.

The greatest way it influence my life is the way in which it seems to suck time away from me. I spend way too much time in front of the television and not doing other things I should or even want to do. I just need to learn how to turn the thing off. ;)

I am a regular watcher of television.
We become aware of our surroundings by watching news.Sometimes it helps in changing our moods. For example,if we are sad or not feeling well, even soft music or song makes you feel better.
We get to learn many lessons while watching movies on television as in my case I start comparing my life with some scene in the movie.
So it has a great influence in our lives.
