Why are some discussions replied to and others not?

I was just wondering why no one answers certain discussions? There are five or six "online shopping" discussions going on. I posted one about "Big Crumbs" (http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/416613.aspx) and there's no replies to it, but the other discussions have a lot of replies. Did I do something wrong?

I've been wondering the same thing. the only thing I could think of is that it depends on the time of day when you post. If there isn't many people on they may or may not see it. I don't know. Wish I knew!

It can be from a variety and/or combination of factors.
New members typically go unnoticed at first.
The longer you are an active member, the more you get read.
Having some contacts/friends helps get you comments,
but having hundreds of contacts can defeat the purpose.
The people with huge lists of contacts are just here
trying to grab readers and rarely read and comment on
all those contacts they greedily grabbed up.
Good titles for your discussions helps a lot.
Though because of the demographics of myLot you will
find that about 60% of members are looking for easy
titles, usually questions, that they can leave a short
jumbled response to. They are here just to collect the
penny per post.
Beyond a catchy title, to garner serious readers you
need to write good content and also thought provoking
responses to other people's discussions.
Reciprocity is the real key to online communities.
The more you read and comment on others, the more
they are likely to repay the comments by responding
to the discussions you start.

I have made a few posts on shopping, Big Crumbs, coupons and rebates and have little or no success to get replies. It could have something to do with the tags we are attaching to our discussions but it seems that we have been using good tags. Not too sure why this happens but I have found that if I go back to my discussion and add my own comment, re tag it, sometimes I get a few more replies.
