As you know Aidonia, I've only been here for a few weeks and keep close contact with my friends. Most of my friends do not have english as their first language. I come on most days and spend about an hour or so here. I just want all of you to know that over just a few weeks, for those who post often, I've noticed improvement in many of your skills. :) And just so you know, I hear a lot of people in my country that do not communicate in english as well as many of you! Hang in there and keep reading and posting!

Actually your english is very good compared to some others I have tried to read. The syntax is off a bit, but you are getting better. I know I would not be able to go to another site with another language and even type one word. So keep up the good work! I am impressed with all those that try and do not have English as their first language!

Dear aidonia,
In order to increase your English writing performance, just keep practising your writing
here and other users will try to correct your writing.
Just don't be afraid to make mistakes, whether it is big or not.Every mistake that you performed makes your English becomes better.
Also,if you find any new English words, open your dictionary and try to memorize their meanings.Reading a lot of articles will help a lot.Your English will get better and better. That is all of my suggestions.

I come from the third world country, Indonesia. English is not the first or second language here. So, it's difficult for me to discuss. But, I've try my best. And some myLotters are very helpful. And I have improved my English. So, now I can discuss in many words. It means more money too.. Ha..ha.. Just kidding.. Just try your best and think that people will understand you.

Well Aidonia, we have the same problem: our bad English. One of the reasons I decided to stay in this forum is the possibility to improve my English.
Unfortunately I'd like to write more words, to express more concepts, opinions, but my bad English represents a big limit to me. How ever I try communicating with people here on myLot and I hope improving a little in future....

My English is not perfect. The way I see it a language is for communication. If people understand what we are talking about then the purpose of language is served. I don't have any difficulty following any of your posts. The more you practice English by using it you will get better.Regards

my dear aidonia, I am from Italy as you know and therefore I am not a native speaker, too. I like writing and I like English and I think this is the crucial point..I think that the most important thing is that you are a nice person who can make herself understood.. I am sure that English speaking people here would appreciate your effort, maybe having fun with our mistakes and why not...they can be of help...while writing and reading you'll do a lot of exercise and after all you can ask for help if you don't know the exact word in English...I need to thank you all the people who are helping me with my English here and above all Josie.
have a nice day and let's speak English

Dear Aidonia,
If you think your English is not good enough, you should try to see how someone whose first language is not Greek yet they have to master it...=) Many people I know tell me how difficult it is to learn Greek, much more difficult than to learn English. Many students from theology class fail their exam in Greek language subject when they need to pass as the New Testament was written in Greek. Just recently I read about aorist tense which only available in Greek and there are many more Greek tenses that are not available in English! Greek tenses complexities have made them the chosen language for the Holy Bible because of its accuracy of timing (tenses).
Aidonia, it is nothing to be able to speak in foreign languages when you don't speak with your loving heart, with your respect, humility, gentleness and your sincere willingness to always try your best to understand other more than you demand to be understood...=)

My dear friend ,sweet and kind like always.
You are absolutely right about the Greek language. We have very difficult grammar.I 'm lucky because I refresh my knowledge again with my son's lessons.this year and the last year they study again and again about the tenses (he is very good at aorist).
This make for me more hard to speak other languages because I think first at my mind the sentences at Greek but when I translate you can't find the right tense from Greek to English. But i try my best.
