I recomended you to make Kaspersky Anti-virus Pro.
As of today we know specifically of 9 viruses that
could cause a problem similar to the one you are having.
1. Win32/Goldun.ia (One friend said he did not
find anything when he ran Norton and McAfee anti-virus software,
but he found the Win32/Goldun.ia Trojan and i recomended to used a software 'Kaspersky' anti-virus pro)
2. T SPY_HAXDORY (A friend who was receiving the
fake login confirmation
page located a virus with Trend Micro Housecall
identified as T SPY_HAXDORY.
Removing this seemed to solve the problem without
having to reinstall
windows.)
3. cpu.exe (Aladinz.l Trojan) more information
regarding this virus can be
found at http://www.auditmypc.com/process/cpu.asp
4. GDIWXP.DLL
5. pwsteal.trojan
6. TROJ_GOLDUN.DO which has a file named CPU.EXE
found in the c:\windows
directory.
7. TSPY_GOLDUN.AR
8. Trojan.LdPinch.L
9. Win32/Small.NCC trojan

I too have tried AVG I found it didn't do a good enough job. I was still getting infected
Hence I switched to Anitivir and no problems Instant Pop up and hit delete button. Doens't even get as far as being downloaded
Also Internet Explorer is bad for allowing in virus Firefox works much better

Are you sure that the message that appears on your screen is a system generated message?
Many sites have pop ups and other forms of adware embedded in them, so if you are on the internet when the message occurs it may be a pop up window designed to promote a registry editor or adware scanner etcetera. This is a very common practice and I have known several people to be fooled by this approach.
As for antivirus prgrams, there are a good variety and most of them will provide the protection that you require.

I use NOD32 and is very good.
Low resurce consumer and great protection.
If you want an complete solution ( antivir, antihacker, antispam etc.) I recomend BitDefender.

MCAFEE is the best and be sure to use a firewall buddy
using an antivirus itself doesnt stop u from any viruses
use a firewall
i would recommend u a MCafee antivirus and firewall.........

I think u are probably using a pirated version of the operating system, get a new one, and update it regularly it automatically updates the security fixes, and on the firewall and pop up blocker and use norton antivirus, which is trusted and works with any system,

try using F-Port as an antivirus... its light and effective
and install Zone alarm as a firewall.
if ur system is already effected,, format it and install these softwares.. hopefully it will run better.

Well i use kaspersky it is good if the virus definition can be upgraded. You say you tried almost every antivirus... well i used this one and when i surf where i shouldn't be, like xxx sites:P, kasperky usualy detects trojans and all other craps that those sites have, just keep it running when u surf or download. As for the firewall, im not to familiar with firewalls i use the one windows provides.
