colors of the cats.

Have any one paid attention to the fact that how the pet cats are of various colors,whereas the wildcats are of dark brownish color.I have noticed in ancient Egyptian paintings cats of only brown,black colors.Can any one show me light in this regard?

Cats domestic or wild have various colors. Tigers have stripes, light or dark coloring intersecting, white at times...Lions have colors ranging from tawny to almost black.
It's all genetics hon...the Egyptian portraits of cats where the colors favored by the goddess according to the legends, so it is natural they would garner favor with this diety by painting cats of those colors.
Look at a wider range of wild cats...and keep in mind that tabby lying at your feet has ancestors who were wild once too.
