Right now I rent. Only because I can not afford a down on a house. I am lucky because I only pay $800 to rent the house I'm in. I think it is a waist of money to rent a house. Plus some places wont let you paint or have animals. If it's your house you can do whatever you want.

We bought our house a couple of months ago. We're spending about $200 more per month. But, in 30 years, the house is ours, not someone elses.

Where I live, the cost to buy a house has gone through the roof. You can't even buy a starter home for less than $300,000 (at least).
If you can get your hands on some property and own it, good for you.
I'm always one to be against renting. You're just throwing your money away. However, some have no choice but to rent.
