HDTV's or PLASMA?

so i hear plasma tv's really aren't as good even though they are twice as expensive?this is the TV i am looking at getting, and i am wanting it very soon but i was hoping an expert could help me to figure out if this TV is top of the line. i want this tv to be TOP of the line as far as being able to do everything new that has just came out etc. someone please help!
