Basil Fawlty - Fawlty Towers - CLASSIS BRITISH COMEDY FAWLTY TOWERS.

In this scene, "Basil" is giving his car a "Severe" thrashing, because it keeps breaking down on him!

Hi At the same time as working on the Internet, I have the TV on, JUST IN CASE something decent comes on!! At the moment it is "The Catherine Tate Show" This is a "Classic" British Comedy programme! Some of the comedies produced by British TV are just absolutely BRILLIANT!! But........ it reminded me of the time when I was with the Army, stationed in Cyprus, in the Mediterreanean We had a very small TV in our Army House, it was there just so we could watch some news! It was obviously broadcast in Greek! However, they would occasionally put on a program that was in English with Greek Subtitles. Every Saturday night at 7pm they would show a "Classic" British Comedy called "Fawlty Towers" But...... It would have Greek subtitles......... Anyone that has seen the program I am talking about, "Fawlty Towers" starring John Cleese as Basil Fawlty, would know that it is "Slap stick" type comedy, with all sorts of "Inuendo's" in it! My question is this........... Can you translate this type of comedy into another language?? Has any of our Friends on www.mylot.com watched any English speaking comedies, and ACTUALLY FOUND THEM FUNNY? I dont just mean British Comedy, American Comedy also So... Over to you... India, Indonesia, China etc etc What do you think?
