Right now I only have acoustic (Alvarez Regency), so I play mostly folk, blues, rock and Christmas music. It's fun to play heavy metal riffs on it though... who knew Metalica could sound so much like Willie Neslon. ;~D

It is, there is a lot of heavy metal riffs that are fun on acoustic... especially leads.

I am lucky to be able to play the meow mix theme song and a Christmas song. I haven't taken the time to learn guitar. Mostly because it hurts my hands! I have carpal tunnel, and I'm not sure if they make anything to help while playing guitar?

way back i had this great fun in listening someone playing a guitar and it turns to be my passion to learn it. BUt i dont have somebody to teach me. I studied chords. And so far i could play songs which has simple guitar chords. During my free time im studying other songs that i like.

I've been playing guitar for years and I don't think I will ever be good at it. I don't practice consistently enough. I also have a mandolin. I wish I had some other people to practice with. It gets boring practicing alone. My guitar is sitting right here but I haven't touched it in days.

Oh, look up some tabs and play it! AC/DC riffs sound awesome on acoustic. The classic intro to Hell's Bells is a lot of fun!

Yep, I do play acoustic guitar and the type of music that I learnt was classic and I get play a bit of pop. But, I stopped playing for a pretty long time so that my ability to play guitar has decreased significantly, I dont know If I can still play like I used to. Im getting busy as well so I guess I do still play sometimes but that does not make me improved

For me, it's mainly heavy metal. However, some of the old R&B stuff (from the late 1950's & 1960's) has some good guitar work to try out if you like some of those ballad-type tracks.
Oh - further advice from one musician to another. It's not what you can do that makes you a good musician. It's what you don't do.
