What is the best and cheapest family car

Here in the Philippines, the best but cheap car is the Isuzu Alterra. It has 5.1 surround sound system, 2 7" headrest LCD monitors, wood paneling and other luxury features and it is under $40,000. It's a great car, at least here in the Philippines.

For Indian Family car, I think Tata Safari is best and reasonable... For small family it's Maruti 800... I know about Indian cars only...rest dun know
