Things we learn from the movies, # 1:During all police investigations it is necessary to visit a stripclub at least once.
All beds have special L-shaped top sheets that reach up to waist level on man, but all the way to armpit level on the woman lying beside him.
It's easy for anyone to land a plane, provided there is someone in the control tower to talk you down.
Once applied, lipstick will never rub off - even while scuba diving.
You can travel to any part of a building through its ventilation system, and no one will ever find you there.
You will always have ammunition to reload a gun - even if you haven't carried any.
You're very likely to survive any battle in any war - unless you show someone a picture of your sweetheart back home.
To pass yourself off as a German officer, it will not be necessary to speak the language. A German accent will do.
The Eiffel Tower can be seen from any window in Paris.
A man will show no pain while taking the most ferocious beating, but will wince when a woman tries to clean his wounds.
If a large pane of glass is visible, someone will be thrown through it before long.
All phone numbers in America begin with the digits 555.

Another one of your interesting readings ossie, well done and keep up the good work! It's easier to enjoy a discussion that makes a lot off common sense and has meaning!

You forgot about how women always wake up with full makeup on and nice hair and tons of jewelry! And the hero always saves the day by himself then when it is over the police finally come when their help is no longer needed! :)

My hair this morning was an awful mess as well, and since I never wear makeup, no makeup on either. So I guess life is not as in the movies?

This is Good. I enjoyed these. My favorite one here was Anyone can land a plane provided there is someone in the control tower to talk you down. Oh if it was only that easy.

I have also observed that high heels are a very important part of every police woman's wordrobe (Detective one)and she can run very well i them and not break her ankle or neck. another one is alway wear noisy shoes if you are trying to sneak up on some one.

You are so right about the shoes deebomb. Now if I was to try and run in high heels, I would either break the heel off and fall and break my neck. So all in all it is just as well that I no longer wear high heeled shoes, isn't it?
Thanks for the additions deebomb, they are much appreciated. :)

These are pretty good ..... but do you realise that every time I watch a movie now I will be looking out to see if these things actually do happen. It is not that I disbelieve you ...... having seen many of them before .... but now I will be looking for more of these strange things to see what else I can find.

Oh I didn't notice them myself, but someone sent me these at various times, so I just kept them on hand and put them all together for this discussion. No, all American phone numbers do not start with 555 but that is what happens in the movies apparently. :)
