i say yes and cd's too are becoming extinct due to the introduction of dvd's. greetings. : )

It's true that cassettes have become extinct due to cd's because cd's hav a longer life span than cassettes

I don't think cassettes have become extinct due to CDs but I can tell you I have been throwing mine out for quite some time! I would bet that not many cassettes are sold these days. It won't be long until they are just like 8 track tapes! I just finally talked my hubby into getting rid of a box of those old things..

I've kept a box of mine in the basement. It might be fun for my kids to go through when they get older. They love listening to old LP's on their grandparents record player.
