I'm afraid I have SAD too .. generally speaking I am worst affected between mid December and up to mid February .. but a few years ago I decided to treat myself to one of those SAD lights .. what a difference it's made .. in fact I am sat in front of it right now getting my mornings dose of light .. it really does make a difference, my moods are much lighter and I feel I can cope better .. I had been quite sceptical before I tried it .. so it was a surprise to find it actually worked .. and I would recommend one to anyone who feels they have SAD

This time of year is tough for many people. I would say you need to make sure you are getting enough sunlight and fresh air even if it is cold outside. Some mild exercise such as walking can produce endorphins that will elevate your mood and improve your outlook. The other thing I always do when I get the blues is help someone else. Go volunteer at a nursing home, hospital, soup kitchen, donate some unused items to charity, whatever you can think of. You might grumble while you are doing it but it will bless you. God's blessings to you!

What is SAD? Is it a fair dinkum disorder (Oh dear - my country is showing) or is it a user developed disorder? (i.e. created by public desire?) What is it? What seasons trigger it? I know I always have a bad december - and spring is a shocker for me too. does that count?
