When we go to various italian restaurants we see lot of pastas on the menu but most of them are made of refined wheat flour and not whole wheat. This does not provide you with good nutrition as well as bad carbohydrates. Instead if a whole wheat or multigrain pasta is used you will definitely get the most nutrients out of it than an enriched pasta. I prefer cooking multigrain or wheat pastas at home and they taste delicious. When serving your kids a macaroni and cheese dish i think that multigrain pasta will certainly be the best choice

I use whole wheat pasta at home quite often and my children seem to like it. It takes less food to fill them up and they are not hungry an hour later like they would normally be. However, I have ordered whole wheat pasta at a restaurant on occasion and did not like the taste. Noodles themselves generally do not have much flavor so I don't know what the difference is. When you prepare whole grain pasta at home what kind of sauce do you use?

I make white sauce or tomato sauce. sometimes even pesto. I usually buy a multigrain pasta than a wheat pasta. The multigrain pasta tastes better than whole wheat pasta. i have tried penne, thin spagetti, elbows etc. My 18 month old enjoys it. Every single one tastes good except for the lasagna strips. They are not as good in taste.

I've had the whole grain pasta before. I hated the taste of it. If I ever use it again, it will definitely be with a lot of sauce.

Well the multigrain ones taste better than teh whole wheat ones. So u could try bertoullis multigrain pasta instead of a whole wheat one. I have tried lasagna which doesnt taste good. But the others like penne, thin spagetti, elbows taste good.
