I thought mylot was about discussions, giving people good infomation, chatting to pals, but I have noticed Beggers on mylot? It always starts, "I WONT HAVE GOOD CHRISTMAS NO MONEY" OR "PLEASE HELP ME AT CHRISTMAS". We all feel straped for cash at christmas! So why waste money have a normal sunday roast, do not buy expensive presents,it is not nessasary to spend a lot of money. In the past when my lads wanted tv in there rooms I bought three tv at an auction, that was a fraction of the price of one new tv you dont have to buy new all the time. My lads were thrilled to have a tv each and they new they were used tv.To many people over spend and they are paying for the items for the next year, they dont get a chance to save for the next christmas, its a vicious circle. So please no begging on mylot. THANK YOU Merry christmas to you all.

No begging here my friend. I love to post information to share with others that I hope will make their life easier. I love a good joke and often share it with others here. Laughter is good for the soul. Begging for money on this is something that people will do. Many too are the people who post foolish crap, and leave the same for their responses. I just overlook them. If they respond with idiot remarks in my discussion, they get a negative rating.
You have a very Merry Christmas. Enjoy.

I haven't seen any of these posts but I can understand how someone might feel. I will not be able to do anything for Christmas this year. I live on disability. So no gifts, no Christmas....NOTHING!!

I know you probably wasn't talking about me personally, but I felt guilty for having read my own discussions and I would like if I could have deleted my whining and moping about no money for Christmas. I do want to say in defense of myself that I don't believe I asked anyone for money, but I wanted to earn it. In any case, I totally agree with you, because I am grateful for what I do have. So, thank you for (inadvertantly) bringing this to my attention and I wish you a "Merry Christmas" as well.

It was not aimed at you or any one that said they will be strapped for cash at christmas! It was for this one person who asked for money or he could not afford to buy presents!! thats tough! I would help any one in need, I dont have a lot money my self but we get passed it, and survive another year? We all need a moan now and then. Thank you for your reply a very merry christmas to you and your family.

I think that these beggers are just desparete...or greedy...I haven't seen any of these posts...hope not to either! People do spend too much money at Christmas...I have used the freecycle group, and thrift stores, to gain items for my children that I could never afford for them....they will apreciate them...it's better than nothing. And having a "good" christmas is being with family in the first place...remember the reason for the season....My husband hasn't been able to work all month...slow time of the year for his business, jobs are scarce...and we will be lucky to buy one thing a piece for our children at the Dollar store..(I'm not joking, and not begging...just stating true facts)...but I would never in my wildest dreams post to beg on this site or anywhere else...there are agency's who help people with Christmas...TOys for Tots,Salvation Army....thats where they accept the beggars!....MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOURS!

I saw one like that the other day and thought shame shame shame. If I don't have enough money to get my son just 1 gift, I will turn off my internet. It is 45.00 per month and that is plenty for a decent present. We live on one income and yes, it's difficult, but we streamline and it works out. Part of being a parent is sacrifice...some of the beggers need to sacrifice and they may see a difference.

I see that a lot and wonder "what ever happened to pride." It used to be people would try to hide their poverty. Now they want everyone to give them a handout.

They must have money to be able to use a PC! Here in the UK we have soup kitchens free to any one, christmas they have a meal its mostly the homeless that attened. I have donated money for this because it helps the people who live on the streets, not one person but many!

I also noticed a lot of these posts which are soliciting money from mylotters. THey try to manipulate people with a sob story - but in the end all they want is money.
Its strictly against the guidelines and I am sure these posts get deleted!
LOL - I am also tempted to spin a sob story and ask for money sometimes.. but hey SOME of us are too adult for that :P
Poverty or riches this is life and we must just do the best we can...

I have seen one of thes and just didn't bother with it. I figure if they don't get comments they won't make cash.

People come out of the woodwork around Christmas. Some honestly are needy, but if this is really the case they will be able to find many local charities to help them out this time of year. A lion's share of the blatent beggers are looking for an easy handout, perhaps even initiating a scam. People do tend to be more generous around Christmas.

well those are discussions, not necessarily good ones but still discussions. though it is annoying some times to come across such discussions, just ignore them i mean for myself thats what i do. and one thing more i believe its against mylot rules for this type of discussions so i think they can qualify for abuse. greetings. : )

I haven't see these.. I don't think mylot is the place for them to get real help. I think that if people really need the help they need to go outside to the real world.. and find something. I think they start these discussions for people to post on them.. so they make money like that..
I hope these people Find real help..
Merry Christmas to you also and your family..
God bless and pray for these people.. thats what they are needing..

I think that's ridiculous. Why are people doing that? I can see saying that but not begging for money. I haven't seen it but I don't do much on here because I'm too busy. However, if I see it I'll definitely give it a negative rating.

I agree.
I think it is great to get things used. I go to www.craigslist.com and look for used items.
