organ donor - Give the gift of yourself

Why or why not? I am definitely an organ donor for the mere and simple reason that I would pray if something happened to someone I love, where they needed a donation, it would be there. I don't need my body in the afterlife.

I am a donor. I think it is a great thing. Just knowing that I can help someone else out is wonderful. I dont see why everyone doesnt do it. Like you said, you dont need you body after you die. Why not give to others.

It's completely up to you and a personal choice! There's nothing wrong with NOT doing it, if that's what you believe! Don't apologize for standing up for your own beliefs, whether you are in the majority or the minority.. they are yours!

It's definitely a matter of personal choice. And I think taking the responsibility ourselves allows our loved ones to have one less thing to worry about should the need arise.

Yes I am an organ donor. This was a very hard decision for me, as my uncle was killed by a drunk driver when I was young, and my family felt pressured to stop his life support to harvest his organs. My parents are against organ donation and do not have their license marked, but I do, and it is also in my advance directive. I think what frightens a lot of people is that you are still technically "alive" when they take your organs, but if you are in a state where you will no longer be living a full life, what should it matter (in my opinion)? I want my organs going to someone who needs them to keep living if I am no longer able to live. I don't need my human body where I'm going after I die. :)

I think a lot of people fear that their life will easily be given/taken to support the need of someone richer and more important (status) and don't donate an organ for that reason. I personally think that the majority of doctors are true to their pledge and honor what is right. The fear of the few who may not though can leave a huge bearing on people who donate for sure!

I will be,but I haven't registered yet.I think that's so cool to help and keep parts of my body alive in some one else's body. The best is I might safe someone from dying.

Definitely, I have had my documents stating this since I was in my early twenties. I know a woman who donated her kidney to her own brother. I think that is a wonderful gift. I would hope that someday my body could do the same sort of thing for someone. My health is not perfect but I am sure there is still some part of it that would be ok, or that my body could be used in education.

I used to give blood alot of the time but I am not healthy enough for that anymore. Instead now I volunteer at donor clinics when I can.

Absolutely! I believe in organ donation when possible. People's lives have been saved by those who are willing to take the time to sign their ogan donation card. I think it is also very important to specify it in you will if you have one. Cheers!

Yes I'm an organ donor and should they not be in any condition(hope to live a very very long life lol) I'm a body donor I've left it to the Royal Collage of Surgeons. I feel everybody should be an organ donor there should be a register for those who don't want to donate that way your family doesnt get to change your wishes if they don't agree with it.

Yes I have signed papers to leave my organs after I die, I think it is good to be able to give people a better quality of life that have not been so fortunate.
