Not really, although most people like to go away and have a week on holiday during the year normally so why not when you have gotten married?!

I think a honey moon is certainly nice, but not necessary. My husband and I never went on one. We had been together for a couple years, and had a child already. I wasn't willing to leave my child, so I could go away on a private vacation. I just didn't see the point. We saved the money, and the next year, took a family vacation. The lack of honey moon, never affected us. It's simply, a private vacation.

lol... I had to laugh at this originally because I often wonder about it, especially with so many couples already sleeping and living together before their wedding day. As far as virgin couples go, I'm all for it. Couples that aren't virgins, I honestly don't see the point. Sure, it's nice to get away for a couple of days or something, but to me it just sounds more like a vacation then a honeymoon.

I think that it's really up to the couple and what they can afford to do. I know that these days there are couples that are spending a fortune on their wedding and they just can't afford to take a honeymoon right away, that doesn't mean you can't go later though. I hope that when I get married, we'll be able to take a honeymoon right away, it'd be nice to relax after the stress of planning your wedding and to start your marriage off in a relaxing and fun environment.

It is not necessary to go away for a honeymoon, or even to take the honeymoon right away. However, soon after the wedding, there should be some kind of time where it is just the two of you, spending time together, with no outside distractions.

I don't think you HAVE to. But why not. After the stress of planning a wedding and then the actual wedding day, it is definitely nice to re-focus on you as a couple, and what better way to do that then experience something new together. I highly recommend it! :)
