I have not had an Citibank card, but i have had a HSBC card and a Capital One card. Between those two vendors, I would choose Capital One. When I had my cards they had the better interest rates and offered more cards without an annual fee. Probably your best bet would be getting a crdit card from your bank. Many banks offer incentives if you have the payment taken automatically out of your account every month.

Thank you! You mean HSBC is not charging annual fee? I think they're not during your first year from the time you credit card is approved.

When I had my HSBC card they did not charge and annual fee, but that was a few years ago. My fiance got one and they were going to charge him a fee if he ketp it open for a year. We had it paid off in 6 months though. I think the fee was going to be $99. Captial One is still no anuual fee and they usually have pretty good introductory rates that they will let you keep if you keep your credit good with them.

hehe..funny thing is i'm not so particular on the annum fees and all that...as i was holding 5 credit cards at that time and i'm not sure which is which. but if you ask me, i will say standard chartered service is the best...follow my citibank.

I would suggest you HSBC because I have been using it for the past 4 to 5 years and their service is not bad compared to the other bank's credit cards which was worse, especially that of ABN AMRO, in which i had really a bad experience with them and hence I cancelled it and even after that i had some problems with them. So i would suggest you hsbc but not to go for ABN AMRO even in the future if you plan to go for it.

I HAVE BEEN AT HSBC AS A CUSTOMER ASSOCIATE AND RECOMEND YOU TO GO FOR IT BECAUSE IT IS SURELY SUPERIOR IN ITS SERVICES THAN THE CITY BANK ALL OVER THE WORLD AND THE YEARLY FEE CAN BE WAIVED OFF EVEN IF IT IS CHARGED TO YOU, SO NO PROBLEMS.

I have credit cards from both HSBC & Citibank, because I like their international presence. In case I should have any problem with my credit cards when I travel, I will have no problem getting help with either.
My friends tell me HSBC aren't exactly very customer orientated.
My hubby swears by Citibank & has all his bank account & credit cards with them.

Hi boneheart69, I'm from the Philippines. I prefer my Citibank as it provides me with cash back rewards. However, I so much hate their call centers offering credit cards. Don't they know I have 2 Citibank cards already? At any rate, I do encounter a few mishaps with their 24/7 service hotline. But overall, I have been happy with my Citibank.
