Black cats and other superstitions

Merlino - Here's my cat Merlino. He's so black that when he closes his big yellow eyes you don't even notice he has a face :D

A well known "legend" says that black cats bring bad luck. I think this is absolutely false. This legend started with the witches always having a cat, often a black one. So in medieval times black cats were associated with the evil. I know that in far east, f.i. Japan, it is the WHITE cat that brings bad luck because white is the colour associated with mourning and funerals. What do you think about such legends? Are you superstitious? Of course I am not, having a black cat in my home. I'm attaching his picture;)

I`m not superstitious,I also had a black cat and nothing bad happened to me. :)

i absolutly agree with you i love my black cat Ben. if anything he's brought me nothing but good luck and his white brother Theo. I have the complete ying yang as my pets. I control all thats good and all thats evil.

Actually because of our supersitition the life of black cats are miserable so the cats will consider humans as bad omen :-)

I knew about the black cat superstition but i never knew about the white cate thing. I donr believe in superstitions like that anymore but my friends do. To me its just something extra to do or worry about.
